It is not easy walking into an exercise class for the first time, especially as an inexperienced, slightly older newbie to CrossFit. But I had the great fortune to have Chazmith newton as my first trainer. I immediately felt welcomed. Not to say that she didn't work us, oh we worked! And as the weeks went by I was in better shape then I have ever been. Chaz also creates cohesion and an encouraging environment which is inspiring and keeps you coming back. Chaz has a gift for training. She knows how to encourage, when to push, and stays current in the field of exercise and fitness, so that you can be assured you will improve safely and avoid injury. Chaz walks her talk, as she is dedicated to her own health and healing. I cannot recommend  her highly enough! I have worked out consistently since I was 15. I would spend hour upon hour at a fancy health club trying to get and stay as small as possible. I woke up at 5 am every morning, worked out before school or work, and then usually would go back after my day was over. I counted every calorie, was constantly starving and binging. Needless to say, I was miserable. At the age of 27 I found Crossfit and it changed everything.  However, it wasn’t until I met Chaz July 2013, that my relationship to food and exercise changed for the better. Chaz has worked on me with my nutrition and exercise routine and I have never felt better! I am healthier, stronger and so much happier with my body than I have been my entire life. The icing on the cake: I get compliments about how much leaner I am, or how great I look, and I think how is that possible! I work out about 4 times a week, for no more than an hour. I eat double the calories I used to eat the last 15 years of my life, and I am leaner and look better?? Amazing! The last nine months have been wonderful. I appreciate all the time and focus you've put forward in helping me become a healthier me. Its funny to think it started with a challenge to change the way I eat. I pushed back probably more than anyone. I challenged everything you said, because it's in my character. And at the end of the day, you stuck with me, encouraged me and laid down the foundation to have a successful month. You helped me change the unhealthy, weight gaining way I've been eating for years. After the first week of hating you - I started feeling better, waking up on time, having energy to do things, and most of all possessing a passion to continue. Nine months later I love cooking my meals & knowing what I eat. It's wonderful knowing I haven't had any sugar, grain, dairy, processed foods the whole time. Combining the way I eat along with physical exercise and moving my body has changed everything for me. There has been a lot of FIRSTS in my life over the last nine months. For the first time ever I've been able to do pull ups without an assistance band. I can also actually see definition in my muscles. Lots of firsts and I thank you for that!     Its been nine months, I've lost over 65 pounds of body fat, and over the last 9 months I've been putting on healthy lean mass. I've changed the way I eat and cook my meals, and enjoy every minute of it. I'm more productive than ever before. And I have energy to accomplish and do more.
