MOBILITY: WHAT? & WHY?

Do you find it easy & fun to hit your workouts, but lack the motivation to consistently improve your mobility? 

A few reasons WHY mobility is IMPORTANT for YOU! 

  1. Increased mobility & range of motion(ROM) improves your performance: Why wouldn't you want to do something that will make your workouts more effective? Improved mobility will increase your ROM which will you put in stronger better positioning for your lifts, which in turn will help increase your strength. So IF working out is a priority in your life -mobility should be too! 
  2. It reduces your PAIN from poor movement patterns: Often you might have aches / pains due to tightness in joints, or due to improper movement patterns. IF you can improve this movement pattern then you can reduce pain! Ultimately this will lead you back to increased performance, because less pain often = stronger workouts!
  3. Prevents injury that is eventually caused by repetitive use of poor bio-mechanics, as a results of poor movement patterns from restricted joint capsules, soft tissue and muscle junk. Our bodies are well oiled machines, and can take quite a beating, but eventually somethings gotta give. And - I don't know about you but I know I would want to know my body is going to let me workout indefinitely, not just for a while until it breaks. 
  4. Oh, and don't forget improved & increased blood flow - which has an abundance of benefits of its own! Similar to massage, increased blood floor will help promote the removal of toxins in your body. It can also expedite the repair of injury. In addition, it has been known to aid in the lowering of blood pressure. 

What is this mobility stuff??? 

Mobility not only focuses on lengthening short or tight muscles, otherwise known as stretching. It also focuses heavily on soft tissue issues, joint capsule constraints, range of motion limitations, and more. 

 It includes a variety of mobilization tools such as single lacrosse balls, double lacrosse balls, foam rollers, rumbler rollers, and super bands.

However, if you feel uncomfortable getting started, you can always ask a friend to join you, or get help from a trainer. I am extremely passionate about this stuff, because I know it works, and I would love to help you out!
