I've never been popular by any standard.... And I can't say I've ever had a ton of friends ... I've always maintained just a few really really great ones - it's just been my thing - it's what has made sense to me .... I've always said its the quality not the quantity .... It's the motto I've always lived by and this week really solidified that concept. My time in Montezuma was short lived - 5 nights and 4 days to be exact. Perhaps it was short lived, but it was more then I could have ever asked or hoped to experience in only 4 days - it was beyond beautiful. Initially I was sad that it was "only" four days - but then I decided to not focus on what it wasn't, rather everything it was - because it was perfect. The quality of relationships or experiences aren't built in length rather depth. As fast as time moves in real life - every day here felt long - but not long in the ways I'm used to - rather long in the best most rich way I could imagine. I get to go home from this experience richer in so many ways. Richer in experience - richer in friendships - richer in perception - richer in love - richer in touch, taste, sight, feel, and sounds, richer in knowledge, compassion, understanding & appreciation, richer in gratitude & attitude.
Where would I even begin?? The people - which people? All of them- the other travelers - from around the globe - a connection woven amongst us all - the openness - the spirits - the love everyone has to give - non judgement - open arms - open hearts - open souls - to imagine forming such strong connections & bonds - to relate to one another in ways that until now I couldn't imagine possible in such a short time - but the bliss in knowing it's possible to creat a lasting bond in sometimes only a day. The locals - they live with SO much less "material stuff" but they have so much more of the "good stuff" aka - love, joy, peace... Stopping & taking the time to have a conversation - to get to know them - understand them- the glow in their eyes - the excitement - their zest for life - their true spirit... they connect- they have true passion- they live freely. If only they could know how much they taught me about life in one moment!!! The land - this world is so blessed with so much beauty - I can't even grasp it -but I now know I need to experience one spot at a time -Costa Rica- you spoiled me ... to wake up to sunrises - to hear the ocean waves - to feel the breeze in the trees- the sand in my toes- to meditate to the sounds of the waterfalls - the rocks beneath my feet- the warmth of the ocean water & the contrasting crispness of the river water, the howler monkeys that sound like beasts- the kissing lizards - the buzzing bugs- the chirping birds- the ringing birds -and their rustling in the trees. To stare out across the water at the layers of land - mountain peeks stacked on top of each other and beside each other - leafs bigger then some trees ... Bamboo swaying on the wind ... All of it - I can't even name all of it - I wouldn't know how - so many moments spent just taking it in. #forevergrateful #puravida #montezuma #beautyiseverywhere #soblessed
